From team practices and creative workshops to milestone celebrations and community events, the City of Markham offers a diverse range of rental spaces designed to inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and support celebration.
Whether you're booking a meeting room, multipurpose space, recreation surface, cultural venue, or outdoor location, our facilities are equipped with the essentials to help you plan with confidence and ease.
Booking your space is as easy as 1-2-3:
If you're booking a facility between 7 and 30 days from today's date, all it takes is Pick, Pay, and Play.
- Pick: Browse available facilities through our Program Registration and Facility Booking System.
- Pay: Submit your booking request directly through our Program Registration and Facility Booking System. A City staff member will review your submission and confirm availability.
- Play: Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email. You're all set to enjoy your space!
If you're booking a facility less than 7 days or more than 30 days in advance, please contact the facility directly or submit a rental information request form.
Important Information:
- Booking requests can be made 7 to 30 days in advance only
- Availability is subject to change at any time
- Bookings may be paused to accommodate sport group scheduling or other City programming needs
- Bookings cannot be cancelled online. To cancel or make changes, please contact the community centre directly
- Fees are based on the City’s fee schedule

- Recreation Playing Surfaces and Swimming Pools

The City of Markham offers a range of indoor and outdoor playing surfaces for team practices, private rentals, and more.
Arenas
To rent an arena, you must apply for a free arena rental membership. To apply, please visit our Program Registration and Facility Booking System in the Memberships tab.
Arena rental opportunities are available from September 1 to March 31 every year. There is no availability between April 1 and August 31.
During bookings, the membership holder is responsible for ensuring that:
- All participants wear CSA-approved hockey helmets and skates,
- All participants follow arena safety rules and respect staff instructions,
- All participants follow the City's Code of Conduct, and
- Maximum of 25 participants for their booking.
This membership is non-transferable. Full terms and conditions are in your membership agreement. Misuse of the membership or violation of safety policies may result in suspension or cancellation of membership.
Outdoor Sports Fields
Outdoor Sports Field applications for the 2025 season are now open. To submit a rental request, please submit the 2025 outdoor sports field application to rentalpermits@markham.ca.

Cancellation Policy for Recreation Rentals
No refunds for cancelled and/or unused Facility time unless the same is re-leased. A ten percent (10%) administration fee will be withheld from any refunds.
All payments by the Licensee shall be forfeited in the event of cancellation unless the area is re-leased a minimum of 30 days prior to the date of the rental period start date. At that time, ninety (90%) percent of the rental charges will be refunded. Any notice of cancellation must be in written form and submitted to the Customer Service Representative.
- Multipurpose Rooms and Halls
Planning a workshop or community gathering?
Our multipurpose rooms and halls are flexible and functional, ideal for social events, and more. Most rentals include tables, chairs, and basic setup options.
- Meeting / Co working Spaces
Need a productive space for a meeting or collaborative session?
Our rooms are equipped with flexible layouts, reliable Wi-Fi, and essential amenities- perfect for team huddles, community consultations, or focus time.
- Markham Art and Culture Facilities
While Markham’s cultural facilities are not available through the City’s online booking system, staff at each venue are ready to assist with inquiries and guide you through their rental process:
Flato Markham Theatre: A premier performance space ideal for live productions, launches, media events, corporate meetings, conferences, galas, and social gatherings.
Varley Art Gallery of Markham: Versatile indoor and outdoor settings perfect for weddings, recitals, cocktail hours, and corporate functions.
Markham Museum: A 25-acre heritage site with modern amenities, well-suited for weddings, photoshoots, birthdays, anniversaries, family gatherings, and community celebrations of all sizes.
- Parks & Gazebos
Milne Dam Conservation Park
Milne Dam Conservation Park is available for permitted use from May 17 to October 13, 2025.
Permit applications open January 1, 2025, and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note: Admission fees apply on weekends and statutory holidays and are not included in the permit cost.

- Private small vehicle (1 to 7 Passengers): $12.00
- Private large vehicle (8 passengers or more): $24.00
- Bus/Non-passenger vehicle: $171.35
Admission due upon entry. Credit and debit accepted. No cash.
Rules & Regulations:
- Only charcoal BBQs allowed; no other propane fired devices allowed.
- Parking is available in designated areas only. Violators may be tagged and/or towed at the owner’s expense.
- Parking is available in marked parking spaces only – No parking on the grass
- No electrical amplification including PA systems, megaphones and car stereos, CD players, radios, etc. allowed in park.
- Anyone using abusive language, or conducting themselves in a manner that interferes with the use or enjoyment of the park by other persons, may be removed from the park without refund.
- No alcoholic beverages or intoxicant of any kind to be consumed on the premises.
- Canopies, tarps, marquees, and/or tents larger than 10’ X 10’ in size are not permitted in the park.
- Fires are not permissible on park premises.
- Nets, tarps, ropes, swings or other objects are not to be attached to trees.
- Speed limit of 10 km is to be obeyed at all times on park premises.
- No person shall install stakes, fence post or similar devices that may damage the underground utilities.
- No inflatable devices (jumping castles) are allowed in the park.
Other Parks and Gazebos
Park gazebos are open for public use. To secure the use of a park gazebo for an event or gathering, a permit must be obtained. Gazebos have a 40 person capacity.
